"THEN AND THERE for the HERE AND NOW"  HOPE THAT WORKS...

  • "THEN..."
  • Titus 2:11
  • APOSTLE'S CREED:   I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.  I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born to the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended to the dead.  On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father
  • "THERE..."
  • Titus 2:13

Waiting for GLORY to appear is our most blessed hope...

  • ITS OUR FINAL VICTORY
  • Revelation 21:1-4
  1. Victory over a fallen world           Revelation 21:1
  2. FINAL and completed VICTORY OVER OUR SEPARATION FROM GOD.      Revelation 21:2-3
  3. Victory over the Tragic effects of sin.       Revelation 21:4

"THEN AND THERE for the HERE AND NOW"   HOPE THAT WORKS...

  • THEN AND THERE TRANSFORMS THE HERE AND NOW
  • "HOPE THAT WORKS...HERE AND NOW"
  • Titus 2:12

"GODLY":  A life filled with the JOY of GOD

Principles of a GODLY lifr built on the HOPE of THEN and THERE!

Mark 10:17-22

HOPE THAT WORKS

  1. Hope leads to life of total abandonment
  2. Hope acknowledges you are more sinful and flawed than you ever believed.  Hope always begins with a properassessment of GRACE.
  3. HOPE is all about the fact that Jesus is SOVEREIGN LORD

The lordship of Jesus extends to our sexuality, our political life, our economic existence, our family, our play, and everything in between.  There must be no limitaion to the claim that Jesus makes over all of life.  When we get this right, Jesus' lordship takes on a missional edge.  "Jesus is Lord" is more like a rallying war cry than a mere theological statement            -(p. 123, reJESUS, Frost and Hirsch)

     4.  Hope is built on, predicated by the RECKLESS love of Jesus

     5.  Hope is fixed on SOVEREIGN JOY

Take HOPE tha WORKS HOME!

      He is ASKING!
